Carbopol Kapo resin is an acrylic polymer containing polyenyl polyether crosslinked. It is a white loose powder with strong hygroscopicity. As its molecular structure contains carboxyl groups, it is acidic and can be neutralized with alkaline substances to form a transparent gel. After carbo resin is neutralized and carboxyl ionized, due to the mutual repulsion of negative charges, the molecular chain diffuses and expands, showing a great expansion state and has viscosity. Cabo resin can thicken at very low doses. Cabo resins provide special yield values and rheological properties for liquid systems, and require very low concentrations to suspend some insoluble additives (particles, oil droplets, etc.). Because of its suspension ability, Cabo resins are widely used to stabilize traditional oil/water emulsions and creams, oil droplets particles in suspension solutions, and water insoluble substances. The viscosity of Carbopol gel is positively correlated with its concentration, and the higher the concentration, the higher the viscosity of the gel. Carbopol gels are sensitive to electrolyte ions, the presence of electrolyte makes the viscosity of carbopol gels decrease sharply, and the influence of bivalent ions is greater than that of monovalent ions.
